Poppy's sausage rolls

Food processor or thermo machine and


20 minutes prep

45 minutes ready to eat

Step 1

•  1 onion finely pealed and quartered

•  1 carrot halved

•  1 zuccini

•  1 tsp crushed garlic

Step 2

•  1 tbs tomato sauce (sugar free)

•  1 tbs worchesthire sauce

•  500g beef or pork mince

•  1 cup bread crumbs

•  1/2 tsp nutmeg

Step 3

•  4 puff pastry sheets (I use frozen ones)

•  1 egg beaten

•  Preheat oven 220C (428F) degrees

•  Remove pastry sheets from freezer to defrost

•  Blend step 1 ingredients in thermo machine or food

   processor for 15 seconds

  Add step 2 ingredients and blend for 10 seconds

•  Place the mixture into a large zip lock bag and cut of

   one end to make a piping bag

  Cut pastry sheets in half, pipe mince mixture on one

   side of each half sheet.  Wet the other edge with

   water then roll the pastry to cover the meat mix and

   seal the ends.  Score the pastry top with a knife



•  Brush the pastry with the egg mix, and then cut to

   desired sausage roll size

•  Cook for 20-25 minutes until golden brown


The rolls can be frozen in batches before they are cooked. Next time you need a snack just whip them out, defrost in microwave and cook
